The South African government recently released the first, draft Country Investment Strategy which seeks to attract and facilitate direct and foreign investment in order to drive economic growth, increase employment, and reduce poverty and inequality.
In this youth month issue of Breaking Barriers, we outline three aspects of resilience – resilient incomes, resilient sectors, and enablers of resilience – that could serve as clues to help us bounce back out of these multiple, overlapping crises.
In this edition of Breaking Barriers we focus on if and how public employment programmes perform at scale; in particular, whether efficiency at scale comes at the cost of inclusion and long-term dividends.
